Engine 19 Woodfired Pizza is a fictional food truck concept specializing in artisanal woodfired pizzas made in a custom-built oven. Known for its firefighter-themed branding and strong community presence, Engine 19 needed a cohesive logo design and brand identity to capture its unique essence and appeal to its growing audience. This portfolio project demonstrates my approach to logo design and visual identity for the food and beverage industry. The goal was to create a cohesive identity that encapsulates Engine 19’s story while resonating with a local audience and supporting their unique brand growth.
Engine 19 relied on a basic logo design for social media and packaging but needed a comprehensive visual identity to match its expanding reach and new mobile trailer. My goal was to design a memorable logo and cohesive visual identity that reflected the truck’s firefighter-themed essence. The design had to communicate the brand’s authenticity and work seamlessly across various materials, including pizza boxes, business cards, and social media, ensuring a unified and professional look.
The logo design centers around the Maltese Cross, a symbol with deep connections to firefighting, which aligns with Engine 19’s firefighter-inspired theme. After researching the historical and cultural significance of the Maltese Cross, I explored ways to combine it with the name of the food truck. Through multiple iterations, I achieved a design that blends tradition with a modern, approachable aesthetic. The result is a distinctive, cohesive identity that supports Engine 19’s mission and positions them as a standout in the food truck industry.
The final logo integrates the Maltese Cross with warm, energetic elements that convey the truck’s welcoming personality and woodfired culinary focus. This cohesive visual identity extends to all branding materials, creating a unified look that reinforces Engine 19’s story.
